Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Bearcats vs. Lyons Lions

Ellsworth and Lyons are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ellsworth Bearcats challenge the Lyons Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellsworth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Friday, Ellsworth didn't have quite enough to beat Southeast of Saline and fell 61-58. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by exactly three points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lyons, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-35 victory over Ellinwood on Friday.

Ellsworth has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Lyons, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Ellsworth suffered a grim 55-32 defeat to Lyons in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Ellsworth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
