Baseball Game Preview: Clark Cougars vs. Brandeis Broncos

For the second straight game, Clark will face off against Brandeis. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Clark is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since April 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Brandeis by a score of 4-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

For Brandeis' part, Tanner Hallmark made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Hallmark was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hallmark wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Hallmark, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Grayson has posted since back in March.

The victory (which was Brandeis' sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
