Basketball Recap: North Gem Takes a Loss

North Gem came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 53-18 loss at the hands of the Rockland Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-12 back in January.

Rockland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexa Permann out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Permann has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sidney Freeman, who posted 13 points and seven boards.

North Gem's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Rockland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

North Gem didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-25 loss against Sho-Ban on the 8th. As for Rockland, they have also already played their next contest, a 37-31 win against Leadore on the 8th.
