Baseball Recap: Bell Victorious

Bell won the last time they faced Dixie County and things went their way on Friday too. The Bell Bulldogs walked away with a 10-6 win over the Dixie County Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Jackson Philman was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Bell: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Rocco Iovinelli also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The victory got Bell back to even at 4-4. As for Dixie County, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell will head out to square off against Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bell will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Dixie County, they will venture away from home to take on Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trenton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Dixie County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
