Softball Game Preview: Wauwatosa East Red Raiders vs. Brookfield Central Lancers

Wauwatosa East is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Brookfield Central a four-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Wauwatosa East Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Brookfield Central Lancers at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Wauwatosa East came up short against Divine Savior Holy Angels and fell 21-18. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (12), the Red Raiders still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Brookfield Central hadn't done well against New Berlin West recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lancers blew past the Vikings 11-1.

The team relied heavily on Maya Fall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Seymour, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Brookfield Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Berlin West only posted an OBP of .211.

Brookfield Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wauwatosa East, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Wauwatosa East suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Brookfield Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Red Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
