Softball Recap: Miami East Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Miami East proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greenville Green Wave, sneaking past 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Not much got past Jacqueline Kadel, who gave up just five hits to keep Greenville off the board. Kadel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Miami East's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jorgia Roeth, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Roeth a new career-high.

Miami East pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.2 runs. As for Greenville, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-2.

Miami East and Greenville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 47th) will meet Bethel (ranked 396th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Greenville will square off against West Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (58 vs. 573).
