Softball Game Preview: Brandon Valley Lynx vs. Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors

The Brandon Valley Lynx are taking a road trip to take on the Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Brandon Valley nor Pierre T.F. Riggs posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Brandon Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Washington, who was ranked fourth at the time (Brandon Valley was ranked third). The Lynx fell 5-1 to the Warriors on Monday. The matchup marked the Lynx's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Danielle Schoby was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Pierre T.F. Riggs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Washington.

Brandon Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Pierre T.F. Riggs, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went Brandon Valley's way against Pierre T.F. Riggs in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Brandon Valley made off with a 13-0 victory. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Governors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
