Draughn is a perfect 7-0 against Avery County since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Draughn Wildcats will host the Avery County Vikings at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Draughn has three straight victories, Avery County has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Draughn's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Avery County with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Tate Jensen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jacob Mull was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Stephens, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2.

Avery County's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Draughn, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
