Basketball Recap: North Takes a Loss

North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Southeast Golden Buffalo, falling 92-40. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Buffalo this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-50 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Cayden Williams, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 22 points. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in shooting accuracy (54%). Carlo Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Leading Southeast to victory were Jamarkus Robinson and Collin Laws. Robinson went 8-for-10 en route to 20 points, while Laws went 5-for-10 on his way to 12 points and seven assists. Thanks to that strong game, Robinson now owns an excellent 46.8% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Parker Hardgrave, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

North's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Southeast, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-39 defeat against East on the 19th. As for Southeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-56 win against South on the 18th.
