Recap: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Reagan Raiders
The North Surry Greyhounds lost against the Reagan Raiders back in December of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. North Surry was outmatched by Reagan on the road and fell 81-52. While losing is never fun, North Surry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Reagan is ranked 95th).
Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Fisher Leftwich, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. The contest was Leftwich's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Brintle, who scored 13 points.
This is the second loss in a row for North Surry and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Reagan, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
North Surry's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wilkes Central at 8:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Reagan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Watauga at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Watauga focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
