Soccer Game Preview: Moses Brown vs. North Providence

The Moses Brown Quakers will challenge the North Providence Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Moses Brown headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Pilgrim let them put that streak behind them. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Patriots on Friday. It was an even better day for Rose Couto as she scored three goals for her team.

Moses Brown used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Pilgrim. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Kiara Quezada, Elizabeth Nassim, and Josie Siegel. The new lineup might be seeing more playing time going forward considering the group combined for a total of one goal and three assist.

Meanwhile, North Providence faced St. Mary Academy-Bay View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 12-1 victory. The match marked North Providence's most dominant win of the season.

The victory (which was North Providence's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those three contests. As for Moses Brown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
