Softball Recap: Sylmar Comes Up Short

Sylmar lost against Chavez back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sylmar Spartans lost 16-5 to the Chavez Eagles. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

Sylmar got a big performance out of Lizelle Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brianna Cervacio, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Sylmar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chavez, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Sylmar is headed away from home for the first time to take on Poly at 3:30 p.m. on March 7th. As for Chavez, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Paraclete on the 1st.
