Preview: Chipley Tigers vs. Malone Tigers
Chipley is 10-0 against Malone since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Chipley Tigers will be playing at home against the Malone Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Chipley's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Malone has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Chipley posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 54-24 win over Poplar Springs at home. Given Chipley's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Poplar Springs is ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chipley found their leader in underclassman Sadayah Hogan, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Marlee Sullivan, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Malone suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Ponce De Leon, falling 58-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Malone has scored all season.
Chipley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Malone, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Everything came up roses for Chipley against Malone when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 51-22 win. With Chipley ahead 29-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
