Baseball Recap: McMinn Central Takes a Loss

If McMinn Central was riding high fresh off their 22-2 takedown of Sequoyah last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The McMinn Central Chargers took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alcoa Tornadoes on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

McMinn Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Rayburn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

McMinn Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alcoa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, McMinn Central will challenge Silverdale Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alcoa, they will venture away from home to challenge Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
