Basketball Recap: Seabreeze Takes a Loss

Seabreeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 61-39 to the Maclay Marauders. The Sandcrabs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Marauders from their previous meeting back in December of 2018.

Despite the loss, Seabreeze saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jordan Anthony went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

Maclay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nash Beshears led the charge by putting up 16 points. That's the most points Beshears has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Lunt, who posted 19 points.

Seabreeze's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Maclay, their record is now 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seabreeze will square off against Hagerty at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maclay, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Leon at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
