Softball Recap: Brookhaven Takes a Loss

If Brookhaven was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Natchez last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the South Jones Braves on Tuesday, falling 12-6. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

Jayonna Pendleton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Brookhaven's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for South Jones, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookhaven will challenge Warren Central at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for South Jones, they will venture away from home to challenge North Pike at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
