Baseball Recap: Lexington Drops Highest Score of Season Against Varsity Opponent

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). Everything went their way against Varsity Opponent on Monday as the Lexington Eagles made off with a 17-7 win. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Beck was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Stevens, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Lexington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lexington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Lexington will take on Rockdale at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Varsity Opponent, they will challenge Hill Country Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Varsity Opponent is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
