It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fremont can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Newton Rebels on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Fremont had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 15-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Fremont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Verdin had five digs and four aces. That's the most aces Verdin has posted since October 1st.

Verdin wasn't the only good server: Fremont was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive contests.

Briley Iseminger was the offensive standout of the game as she had 19 digs.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 22-10. As for South Newton, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 25-10.

Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, South Newton and Culver Community will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Culver Community will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something South Newton surely won't give up without a fight.
