Preview: Banquete Bulldogs vs. Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats
The Banquete Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Banquete is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Banquete came up short against Freer and fell 49-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banquete in their matchups with Freer: they've now lost four in a row.
Skidmore-Tynan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Sinton 60-23 on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skidmore-Tynan has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Skidmore-Tynan struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Banquete's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Skidmore-Tynan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Banquete was dealt a bruising 71-29 defeat at the hands of Skidmore-Tynan in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Banquete was down 42-13.
