Baseball Recap: New Holstein Gets the Win

New Holstein's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Campbellsport Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The Huskies were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Cougars, so the Huskies were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Ethan Schmitz, who gave up just seven hits to keep Campbellsport off the board. Schmitz has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Holstein's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Ziebell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Ziebell has posted since back in May of 2024.

New Holstein's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Campbellsport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5-1.

New Holstein will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Grafton at 1:00 p.m. As for Campbellsport, they will take on North Fond du Lac at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
