The Denver East Angels are taking a road trip to square off against the Rangeview Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Denver East was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They never let Poudre get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Angels have posted since March 30, 2024.

Denver East got a great performance from Kaeden Zirlin as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Zirlin also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Angels are 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Denver East secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Evan L'Herault, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Jon Moran also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Denver East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rangeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Montbello, falling 14-1.
Rangeview's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Denver East, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Denver East has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rangeview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Denver East's way against Rangeview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Denver East made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Angels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
