Softball Recap: East Ascension's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

East Ascension managed to slip by Walker the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. East Ascension lost 14-8 to Walker on Tuesday. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Cayden Tullier was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Tobie Landry also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, East Ascension hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

East Ascension's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Walker, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. East Ascension will challenge rival Denham Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Walker is set to face off against their familiar foe Live Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Walker's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Live Oak has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
