Meanwhile, Milby waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The Buffs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Natalie Lara was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Daniella Juarez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Sophia Fernandez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Milby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Woods only posted an OBP of .143.
Milby pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Victoria West, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
Both Victoria West and Milby just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Milby struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
