Soccer Recap: Astoria Takes a Loss

Astoria lost against Scappoose on October 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fishermen lost 8-0 to the Indians. While losing is never fun, Astoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Scappoose are ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for Astoria and nudges their season record down to 3-8-4. As for Scappoose, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season.

Astoria has already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against St. Helens on the 30th. As for Scappoose, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 win against Rainier on the 30th.
