Preview: Providence-St. Mel Knights vs. DePaul College Prep Rams
Providence-St. Mel has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the DePaul College Prep Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence-St. Mel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while DePaul College Prep is ranked 28th).
Last Friday, Providence-St. Mel lost to Marmion at home by a decisive 61-45 margin. Providence-St. Mel has struggled against Marmion recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ahmad Boyd, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Miller, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, DePaul College Prep put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Taft 57-34. DePaul College Prep might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 23 points or more this season.
The losses dropped Providence-St. Mel to 2-3 and Marmion to 4-4.
Providence-St. Mel was taken down by DePaul College Prep 62-32 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Providence-St. Mel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
