Softball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Academy Heat vs. Spring Creek Gators

The Liberty Christian Academy Heat will face off against the Spring Creek Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian Academy has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

If Liberty Christian Academy beats Spring Creek with 19 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Heat walked away with a 19-14 victory over Pamlico Christian Academy back in March. With that win, the Heat brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Lily Lanier, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Meredith King was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Liberty Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Spring Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Eastern Wayne.

Liberty Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Spring Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
