Basketball Recap: Sullivan East Comes Up Short

Sullivan East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Greene Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Huskies are ranked 117th).

Despite the defeat, Sullivan East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Hubbard posted ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Hubbard a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hurley, who scored six points.

Sullivan East's loss dropped their record down to 4-24. As for North Greene, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

Sullivan East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-46 defeat against Elizabethton on the 21st. As for North Greene, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-21 win against Cloudland on the 22nd.
