Softball Recap: Desert Edge Comes Up Short

Desert Edge lost against Verrado back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Desert Edge lost 19-2 to Verrado. The Scorpions just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Desert Edge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Ochoa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base marked the first that Ochoa snagged this season.

Desert Edge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Verrado, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Desert Edge will welcome Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon View will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Desert Edge surely won't give up without a fight. As for Verrado, they will head out on the road to challenge North Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Verrado is facing North Canyon at the right time seeing as North Canyon is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
