The matchup between Willits and Technology on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Titans. Considering the Wolverines have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Abigail Sherf made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Sherf was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Willits got a massive performance out of Chloe Wright, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Wright has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alexandra Ramos, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Willits kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory was the third in a row for Willits, bringing their record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Technology, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
