League recap: Laurens Academy jumps in national rankings thanks to big week

Laurens Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 176 to 162 thanks to a 1-0 record over the past week.

First place in the league belongs to King Academy, which has compiled a 14-5 overall record to go with its 6-2 league record. The Crusaders sit 2.00 games back in second, with a 1-1 record in league play.

The Knights's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only zero hits and zero walks, both of which led the league. King Academy has given up a mere 51 hits on the year in addition to compiling 65 strikeouts. Scott Causey is the leader in that category with 24 Ks on the season.
