Baseball Recap: Dwight Falls to Coal City in First Game of Season

Dwight had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Coal City Coalers, falling 11-5. The Trojans have struggled against the Coalers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Dwight saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Gallet, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another was Jackson Launius, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

The victory made it two in a row for Coal City and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwight will face off against Herscher at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coal City, they will take on Minooka at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
