Baseball Game Preview: Port Allen Pelicans vs. Parkview Baptist Eagles

Port Allen hasn't had much luck against Parkview Baptist recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Port Allen is taking a road trip to square off against Parkview Baptist at 4:00 p.m. Port Allen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Port Allen is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Plaquemine. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pelicans have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Johnny Payne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Wolf, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Parkview Baptist never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Family Christian. Considering the Eagles have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Parkview Baptist has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Port Allen's loss dropped their record down to 15-7.

Port Allen might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Parkview Baptist in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Port Allen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
