Volleyball Recap: Murphysboro Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Murphysboro can now relate to. They fell just short of the Herrin Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Among those leading the charge was Harley Summers, who had 16 digs and 13 assists. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high. Emery Skaggs was another key player, getting 13 assists and nine digs.

Murphysboro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season. As for Herrin, their victory bumped their record up to 11-24.

As of now, neither Murphysboro nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
