Volleyball Recap: Murphysboro Red Devils vs. Herrin Tigers
Murphysboro and Herrin squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Murphysboro had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Despite the loss, Murphysboro still got an impressive performance from Macey Alexander, who had 19 assists and ten digs. Alexander is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 19 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Herrin can attribute much of their success to Harley Summers, who had 16 digs and 13 assists. Those 16 digs gave Summers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emery Skaggs, who had 13 assists and nine digs.
Murphysboro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season. As for Herrin, their win bumped their record up to 11-24.
