Basketball Recap: Birch Run Takes a Loss

Birch Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 51-27 to the Durand Railroaders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-46 back in December of 2024.

Taylor Carlson had a dynamite game for Durand, dropping a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. Carlson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izabell Konesny, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Birch Run's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Durand, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Birch Run has already played their next game (against Lakeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Durand has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Ovid-Elsie.
