Basketball Recap: Paden City Comes Up Short

Paden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 73-25 loss at the hands of the Trinity Christian Warriors. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Austin Porta continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Trinity Christian, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 41 points and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Porta has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Mousadis, who went 7-for-12 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Paden City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Trinity Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season.

Coming up, Paden City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hundred at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hundred knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Paden City likes a good challenge. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing at home against Magnolia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Trinity Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
