Volleyball Recap: Merkel Triumphs

Merkel not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Badgers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was Merkel's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-11.

Merkel's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Merkel and Aspermont will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene, they will challenge Mullin on Saturday.
