Gray Stone Day hasn't had much luck against South Stanly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will square off against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Gray Stone Day got the win against Albemarle by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Knights have won five contests by more than 14 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Bradshaw made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Helen Klauder, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February. London Gray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, South Stanly posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past West Brunswick 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rowdy Rebel Bulls.
Lyric Rucker tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Coco Tyson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Morgan Thomas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
South Stanly's record now sits at 10-12. As for Gray Stone Day, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gray Stone Day hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like South Stanly struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gray Stone Day might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from South Stanly when the teams last played on April 9th. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
