Football Recap: Sandy Creek Skates Past Mcintosh with Ease + How To Watch

Sandy Creek had won seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it eight. They blew past the McIntosh Chiefs 35-7. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Chiefs are ranked 234th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amari Latimer was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hill, who threw for 195 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes.

Sandy Creek's defense stepped up as well, laying out Elijah Strader. three times. In that department, Jt Austin was the leader with two sacks. Another thorn in McIntosh's side was Andrew Dawson, who made 16 total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

As for McIntosh, their record now sits at 1-1. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why McIntosh lost, don't look at Brandan Ridley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 101 yards on only 14 carries, and also caught one score.

Coming up, Sandy Creek will head out to take on LaGrange at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 848 yards in their previous games.
