Who's up and who's down

This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.

Welcome

The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Haddam-Killingworth earned the 23rd spot after its strong showing last week. It put the hurt on Bullard-Havens with a conclusive 52 - 0 victory. That 52-point margin marks the most Haddam-Killingworth has won by all season.

Can't Touch This

Even though Middletown was bested by Maloney 20 - 14 last week, Middletown's senior Xzavier Reyes played one heck of a game. He ran for 118 yards and also punched in one touchdown. That performance made Reyes one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

This Week's Big Showdown

The showdown between New Britain (9th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Greenwich (1st) shaped up to be more of a takedown. There's no need to mince words: New Britain lost to Greenwich, and it lost bad. The score wound up at 49 - 13. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a surprise as Greenwich is ranked 47th in the MaxPreps national rankings, many places higher than New Britain.
