Softball Recap: Scott Gets the Win

Scott got themselves on the board against Holcomb on Tuesday, but Holcomb never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 15-0 win. For the Beavers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Longhorns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Baylee Wolkensdorfer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wolkensdorfer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Piper Fox, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayla Edwards, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Scott's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Holcomb, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Scott will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Longhorns: the pair will be back at it again later today.
