Baseball Recap: Ripon Find Success

While Ripon's win against Sonora wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Ripon sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Sonora on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since May 3, 2024.

Ripon got a great performance from Fabian Nuno as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched. Nuno also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ripon is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Ripon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Ripon's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Sonora, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Ripon will venture away from home to face off against Hughson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ripon's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hughson has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Sonora, they will be playing at home against Ripon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
