There's no place like home for Southwest EC, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Central Spartans on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Spartans last Tuesday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Southwest EC was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-97), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 10-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 18-16.

Darius Lindberg paced Southwest EC's offense, picking up 25 kills. Lindberg got some help from Ismael Razo and his 32 assists. Finally, Bayne Bernal kept Southwest EC's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Southwest EC's win bumped their record up to 13-20. As for Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

After both having extra time off, Southwest EC and Imperial will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lincoln on the 18th.
