Basketball Game Preview: Providence Christian Academy Storm vs. Rabun County Wildcats

The Providence Christian Academy Storm will face off against the Rabun County Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Providence Christian Academy has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Rabun County will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Saturday, Providence Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Carver and lost 73-54. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Tigers are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rabun County's strategy against Banks County on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rabun County blew Banks County out of the water with an 81-48 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Rabun County's win came from a few key players Providence Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Huey Blalock, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 assists. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Burrell, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and five rebounds.

Rabun County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Providence Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
