Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Avon Lake Shoremen

The Avon Eagles will challenge the Avon Lake Shoremen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Avon's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Avon Lake has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Wednesday, Avon came up short against Steele and fell 3-1.

Avon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Avon Lake lost 3-0 to Mayfield last Thursday.

Avon Lake took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-12, 25-13.

Avon's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Avon Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Avon's way against Avon Lake when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Avon made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Shoremen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
