Recap: Sabino Sabercats vs. River Valley Dust Devils

The Sabino Sabercats had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 46-31 victory over River Valley on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Cameron Hackworth was his usual excellent self, throwing for 467 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Berryhill, who picked up 160 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why River Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Plotkin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Plotkin was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.

Sabino has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.7 points per game. As for River Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Sabino will be playing in front of their home fans against Round Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Round Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
