Football Preview: Lindsay Cardinals vs. Strathmore Spartans
Lindsay hasn't had much luck against Strathmore recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lindsay Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Strathmore Spartans at 7:15 p.m.
Last Friday, Lindsay lost to Granite Hills on the road by a 30-16 margin. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 10-3 in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, Strathmore didn't have too much trouble with Corcoran on Friday as they won 31-13. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Ramon Rodriguez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Isaiah Colunga also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Lindsay and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Strathmore, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Lindsay came up short against Strathmore in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, falling 14-10.
