Basketball Recap: Franklinton Red Rams vs. Northern Nash Knights
Franklinton suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Northern Nash Knights, falling 83-35. The Red Rams haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Franklinton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Hemphill, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Long, who had eight points and seven rebounds.
Northern Nash was led to victory by Kingston Little and CJ Rosser Jr.. Little went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and six boards, while Rosser Jr. went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points. Rosser Jr.'s evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamren Freeman, who put up eight points and ten rebounds.
Franklinton's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Northern Nash, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
While Franklinton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
