League recap: Wahoo tops Lincoln Christian to extend winning streak

C1 District 3 recap Nov. 7, 2012

Wahoo extended the longest winning streak in C1 District 3 this week by beating Lincoln Christian, 41-35. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Warriors.

Wahoo and the Crusaders played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Wahoo eventually emerging with a 41-35 victory.

Ashland-Greenwood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gunnar Garner threw for 111 yards and Tyler Craven had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Russel Beard chipped in 115 yards. Jordan Scheil helped Ashland-Greenwood's passing attack out by catching four balls for 43 yards.

Ashland-Greenwood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bluejays feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Garner has thrown for 860 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Craven has 28 catches for 430 yards. Scheil leads the league in rushing with 925 yards.

Chad Fox's team led C1 District 3 in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Lincoln Christian.
