Basketball Recap: Wayne Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Wayne Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 83-60 to the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots. The Generals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in January.

It was another big night for Karsten Swinney, who posted 26 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals for Freedom Christian Academy. The match was Swinney's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce West, who put up 20 points.

Wayne Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Wayne Preparatory Academy will challenge Oak City Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against The O'Neal School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Freedom Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
